Call the Midwife's Trixie, played by Helen George, will shock viewers during Sunday's season 13 finale as she leaves the show after a dramatic phone call. But fans will be pleased to know that nurse Trixie's exit won't be longlasting as she's reported to return to Poplar for season 14, which is expected to begin filming in spring.
Viewers will see fan favourite and one of the original members of the cast, Trixie, make the decision to swap London for America to fix her marriage to businessman Sir Matthew Aylward.
The series 13 final is then expected to leave fans of Call the Midwife on a dramatic cliffhanger, as fears that Trixie has shared her final goodbye to Nonnatus House, but insiders have suggested she'll be back. On Sunday, 25 February, viewers watched as Trixie's husband Matthew, played by Olly Rix, was caught in a web of lies after facing some serious money troubles which he struggled to keep hidden when bailiffs arrived.
As a result of the stressful situation, Trixie then attempted to cope with things by accepting sleeping pills from Doctor Turner. But Trixie was eager to make her frugal lifestyle with Matthew work as they coped with having little money and even mastered the art of making tasty mince dishes to fit their budget.
But he still jetted off to America - to start his new business.
Then in the series final, there is expected to be a dramatic phone call between Trixie and Matthew. Unable to sleep, Trixie finally rings up her husband to tell him: "I'm coming out to join you".
