Facebook appears to be down for users trying to access the site on desktop. People trying to load the page were being met with a blank white screen on Wednesday afternoon.
According to DownDetector reports of issues started to come in just before midday. It appears to be a desktop issue with the mobile currently working as normal.
Users were quick to take to another social media platform to ask what had happened to the Meta-owned site.
Writing on X, formerly Twitter, @o11166285 wrote: "Ayo, is facebook down? #facebookdown All i see is white screen. BTW its from web only," while @janetwalkergi said: "Facebook is not working & I straight away come to Twitter or X. To make sure its not just me. Twitter always there to validate I'm not alone or crazy."
There is no indication of what has caused the issue or when it will be fixed. Meta has also not yet commented on the reported outage.
