Roman Kemp has never shied away from speaking about his mental health.
The former Capital FM presenter, 31, has talked candidly about his suicidal thoughts, being on anti-depressants and also the death of his dear friend, Joe Lyons, who took his own life in 2020, also aged 31. Roman has had some issues with his physical wellbeing, revealing he suffered from sleep apnoea in 2022, caused by his hectic work schedule. On Friday, he quit the Capital breakfast show, and everyone is excited to see what he will do next.

She made me open up so much as a kid and made me talk to her and literally forced me to tell her how I was feeling. "I talked to her about the lowest point I've been in and about having thoughts I shouldn't be having. What I realised is these are quite common thoughts that one in four men have.

He shared that he had been taking anti-depressants for over half of his life, stating: 'I've had a lot of troubles of my own, I've dealt with suicidal thoughts, I've been on anti-depressants for 15 years of my life. I feel that, sometimes, if my brain gets in a situation where it feels like it's been beaten up by Mike Tyson, I feel like I'm in a boxing ring and not had one boxing lesson."
