Laura Whitmore has announced some exciting career news recently, with the 37 year old revealing that she's set to make her West End debut later this year. The TV host will star in 2:22 A Ghost Story in London's West End and will play a character called Jenny, in a move which hugely differs to her usual presenting gigs.
Days after confirming her new venture, Laura then announced that she will stepping down as the host of Love Island and will not be returning for the next series of the iconic dating show. As Laura prepares to take on new roles, here we take a look back through the star's colourful career...
Laura, who studied journalism at Dublin City University, had her first taste of fame in 2003, when she was a contestant in a modelling talent search on RTÉ One's The Late Late Show.The blonde beauty went on to make the final 15. In 2008, she entered a competition to become the new face of MTV News in Europe and went on to win, which led her to start hosting news bulletins for MTV in Ireland, the UK and pan-European MTV channels - a role she stayed in until 2015.
Laura's big break came in 2011, when she started hosting hit spin-off show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW! The 37 year old fronted the ITV show for five series before eventually announcing her departure in 2016. In the years that followed, Laura presented programmes including 11th Irish Film & Television Awards, Survival of the Fittest and The Brits Are Coming.
