BBC Casualty star 'to leave show' amid Charlie Fairhead exit after 38 years

It's been just days since Charlie Fairhead's emotional departure from Casualty, which left fans devastated. Now it seems another legend might be leaving the show – hot on the heels of Charlie actor Derek Thompson, who quit after 38 years. A gripping trailer hints at tough times ahead for Dylan Keogh, played by William Beck, as he's seen handing over his ID badge in a moment of despair.
A new boxset, called Breaking Point, will focus on Rash as he tries to cope after losing his dad Ashok, who died in February after being hit by a bus. but it will also delve into Dylan's mental health struggles.
There's also a clash brewing between him and Patrick (Jamie Glover), the new Clinical Lead, who suggests Dylan might be on the autistic spectrum. Overwhelmed, Dylan is seen leaving his pass on Patrick's desk, saying: "I don't know if I can do this anymore, I don't think I should try," before walking away.
This follows the heartbreaking exit of Derek, who was Casualty's longest-serving star.
His departure reportedly happened after the BBC cut back on Casualty episodes due to cost concerns, left fans reeling. While he was proud of his final scenes, Derek said his departure was tinged with sadness that he will no longer be part of a drama that has played such a huge part in his life. He met his second wife, Dee Sadler, on the set.
They married in 1989 and went on to have a son.
