An inquest into the death of a two-year-old has been opened after her mother was charged with her murder. Omra Wali Jan died at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital on February 9, Manchester Coroners' Court heard.
Morsal Mohammed Naim, 30, has since been charged with her daughter's murder, coroner Zak Golombeck said. He said the child was admitted to hospital on November 30 last year, 'having been found in cardiac arrest'.
"During the course of her admission, it was felt that her condition would be fatal," Mr Golombeck added. He said medics applied to the High Court to withdraw treatment. She died a short time after being extubated.

"At the time of Omra's death I was notified that there was a Greater Manchester Police investigation into Omra's injury and death," Mr Golombeck told the court. "Dr Robinson with Dr Petts performed the post mortem on Omra. The provisional cause of death was head injury.
"A Crown Prosecution Service letter notified me that Morsal Naib, mother of Omra, has been charged with the offence of murder. So, as per the regulations, I have suspended my inquest pending the outcome of criminal proceedings."
