Leonardo, the upcoming drama series exploring the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci, starring Poldark's Aidan Turner as the famed Italian inventor, scientist and artist, is heading to Amazon Prime in the U.K. and Ireland.

Ireland’s own Aidan Turner had been entertaining the masses with his stellar turn in the series Poldark and now he’s back to try and entrance us once more with his new show, Leonardo.

Jamie Lang Sony Pictures Television has sealed a deal to send one of this year’s most anticipated period dramas, the pan-European co-produced “Leonardo,” to Amazon Prime Video in the U.K. where it will premiere April 16.“Leonardo” is an eight-part dramatized retelling of the life of the Italian master Leonardo da Vinci, played by Aidan Turner (“The Hobbit” franchise).

Amazon has taken the UK and Ireland rights to Aidan Turner series, Leonardo, following a deal with Sony Pictures Television. The series on Italian master Leonardo da Vinci will premiere on April 16.
