While there was a live-action movie, “The Last Airbender,” in 2010 from M. Night Shyamalan, the film never took off nor captured the spirit of the “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” animated series from Nickelodeon which has become a cult classic for specific audiences who grew up with it.
Caroline Brew editor Netflix has released the full trailer for its live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon’s animated series “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” All eight hour-long episodes of the show’s first season will premiere on Netflix on Feb. 22. The first trailer for the series was released in November.
EXCLUSIVE: John Boyega is set to headline and executive produce The Book of Eli, a TV series prequel to the 2010 post-apocalyptic action film that starred Denzel Washington in the title role, Deadline has learned. Boyega will play younger version of Washington’s Eli in the project, which hails from the movie’s writer, Gary Whitta, creator/writer/executive producer of the potential series, and its directors, the Hughes brothers, who executive produce. The film’s producer Alcon Entertainment is the studio on the TV project, which is about to be taken out to select premium buyers, I hear.

And while “The Bad Batch” isn’t discussed as top-tier (at least from what has been told to me by big fans), it’s still probably better than a lot of what is happening in live-action.

Valerie Wu Intern “The Gentlemen,” Netflix’s TV series follow-up to Guy Ritchie’s 2019 British gangster film, has released a trailer. Set in the world of the original, the new series features a cast of new characters, including Theo James as the Duke of Halstead, Ray Winstone as cannabis empire founder Bobby Glass and Kaya Scodelario as Bobby’s daughter and the empire’s operations leader.
