Manchester City stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday. However, the Blues didn't escape from the match unscathed.
Pep Guardiola named a heavily rotated side with one eye on Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg at Real Madrid. Ake was making just his second start since a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring problem but he pulled up in the 54th minute with what appeared to be a recurrence of the injury.

It's a quick turnaround to the Bernabeu but Gundogan is keeping his fingers crossed the Dutchman will be fit to play. “I hope not too bad. Obviously, it’s difficult to say right now," he said. "The doctors are going to access him and hopefully we will find out that he will be ready for Madrid."
Gundogan scored both goals against Leeds but left the match with a sour feeling after he missed the chance to kill the game and claim a hat-trick as he hit the post with a penalty. Guardiola was furious Erling Haaland didn't take the spot kick and the German has explained his feelings after the miss.
“I wasn’t sure if Erling was going to take it - he wanted to give me the opportunity to score a hat-trick which I haven’t done in my career so far, so obviously I really wanted to score but it was not meant to be," he added. "There’s a bit of disappointment that I could have killed the game in that situation. At least for the first few hours I guess after the game - this is the thing that you think most about. Things like that happen.
"We have to deal with it. Thankfully it was enough to win the game
