‘I’m Your Man’ Trailer: Dan Stevens Stars As A Humanoid Robot In This Sci-Fi Romantic Drama

Chris Willman Music WriterIt’ll be a New Year’s Countrified Eve on CBS this Dec. 31, as the network has just announced plans to fill the evening with no less than five hours of live country music performances from Nashville, now being plotted by a new production company put together by “CMA Awards” executive producer Robert Deaton and country artist manager Mary Hilliard Harrington.Titled “New Year’s Eve: Nashville’s Big Bash,” the show will air from 8-11 p.m.

Five years have passed since Mike Mills‘ last film, “20th Century Women,” had its world premiere at the 2016 New York Film Festival. Mills returns this year with his new movie, “C’mon C’mon,” and given its lead actor, it’s bound to be one of the most anticipated films at NYFF this year.

review of the film at Telluride last week, described it as an “intergenerational dialogue turned heartening dramedy” in which the adult characters are as lost as their younger counterparts and in which the future generation retains a bit of hopefulness despite the bleak future today’s adults have left them with. The first trailer gives a taste of that melancholy dialogue, but more prominently the crisp and beautiful black and white cinematography from “Marriage Story” DP Robbie Ryan.

Another familiar face will be returning to Grey Sloan Memorial. Abigail Spencer, who recurred as Dr. Megan Hunt in seasons 14 and 15 of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, will reprise her role in the upcoming 18th season of the medical drama.

“True Things” is a “romantic” drama that is not romantic in the slightest. In the tradition of films like Catherine Breillat’s “Romance” and Adrian Lyne’s “9 ½ weeks,” the focus is on what is revealed about a female protagonist by how much she is willing to sacrifice to briefly experience passion with an unreliable yet sexy man.
