A drunken thug told his ex-girlfriend ‘I’m glad our daughter died’ during a sickening assault in her home.
Gary Eden, 27, woke his victim up just after midnight on December 13 2021 by kicking her front door and shouting “open this f***ing door”, Bolton Crown Court heard.
Less than two weeks earlier, the woman had given birth to Eden’s child but the baby died shortly after, prosecution barrister Cheryl Mottram said.

After answering the door to him, Eden pushed past the woman, dragged her to the floor and started the vile attack.
He picked her back up, threw her against the wall and slammed her head against it several times.

He then pulled her back towards the living room where he continued to stamp on her head.
Eden screamed: “I’m going to f***ing kill you,” and “I’m glad our daughter died so I don’t have to be tied to you.”
The court heard that he then spat at his victim, before she managed to flee through a window.
Eden, of Langthorne Walk, Bolton, was arrested a short time later and admitted to the assault during his interview, telling police that he had been drinking all day.
He pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage at the first opportunity.
Defending, Nicholas Ross made reference to the unlawful killing of Eden’s daughter Darcey Stevens by her mum Tiffany Stevens in 2019.
Mr Ross described Eden as a “young man who has clearly been horrendously impacted by grief and loss'' and told the court that he had “never got over” the incident.
He added that despite losing two daughters in the space of
