If you love your coffee, the chances are you've got – or are thinking about getting – one of the best coffee machines to have at home. and if a Nespresso machine is high up on your wish list then you'll want to read this review of the Nespresso Vertuo Pod before shopping.
I've had my trusty Nespresso Original Pixie machine, £134.99 (was £149.99) for years, and I use it every day for that first coffee of the morning. But it's becoming harder to come by, only available to buy as part of a subscription on the Nespresso website and reduced to clear at John Lewis.
Nespresso are instead pushing their newer, smarter Vertuo machines, which feature 'centrifusion technology' and clever automated brewing – and so I've been putting them to the test. * Nespresso Vertuo Pop Machine, £59 from John Lewis (was £99) The Vertuo differs from the previous model as there are specific capsules for each size of drink, from ristretto (25ml) to alto (335ml); the machine can detect what capsule has been inserted and dispenses the right amount of water accordingly for the optimum drinking experience.
The coffee itself is then made using a centrifusion extraction system that enhances the aromas of each blend.
The result? The perfect cup of coffee every time.
The Vertuo Pop usually costs £99 but you can currently find it cheaper at a number of retailers: £79 on the Nespresso website, £59 at John Lewis and Argos, and £58.99 at Amazon.
