I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Janice Dickinson has quit the South Africa show ahead of its conclusion next week following a horrific accident that left the star "in agony and gushing blood". According to reports, Janice's fellow contestants will be informed of her injuries in Monday night's episode.
Janice, 68, spoke today for the first time about her shocking exit from the special all-stars series – which was recorded in summer 2022 – after a tumble in the camp left her severely injured. Speaking of the accident, which won't be shown to viewers, she said: "In the middle of one night I woke up because I had to go to the dunny [toilet]. She told The Sun: "I was feeling very insecure because the campfire had gone out and it was as dark as it could be.
So I thought: ‘Right, I’ll make it to the dunny from memory.’ "I walked a couple of steps and tripped, flying flat on my face – hair all over my forehead, my nose was bloody and my whole chin was gashed open. Blood was gushing from all these areas, and there was dirt and stones embedded in my face from the fall." Janice also recalled feeling "intense pain" after the freak accident. The star said that co-stars Fatima Whitbread and Phil Tufnell retrieved her from her ground.
As Janice was helped to sit down on her bed, the production team called a medic. It was then that the star was transported to the medical hut "so they could wash away the blood, stones and dirt in case infection set in". Janice was then given pain relief, placed on a stretcher, before "four men galloped me out along the road in the middle of the night in the cold air".
