Scarlette Douglas broke down in tears as she opened up about the realities of her egg freezing journey. The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star, who was recently rushed to hospital, has been documenting her egg freezing journey on social media and has explained how she is doing it so that she can “protect my future offspring”. Marking day 17 of the egg freezing process on Sunday, 17 March, the TV personality was left in tears as she celebrated her 37th birthday and noted how she didn’t think she’d be turning 37 without children or a partner.
“I feel emotional today for many reasons, probably. Hormones being one, but also, I didn’t think I would be 37 and not have a partner, not be engaged, not be married, not have kids. So I think all of that is getting on top of me a little bit today,” she began.
The TV personality added that while she was “unbelievably grateful” for everything she did have in her life, she thought she’d be “a mummy by now”.
She added: “Don’t get me wrong, I’m unbelievably grateful for everything that I have in my life... for my family, for my friends, my house, my security, my work, all of that I’m so grateful. Scarlette continued: “But I also definitely thought I would have been a mummy by now, and I’m looking at my tummy like yeah, it’s a lot.
