Emma Hamshaw, from Attleborough in Norfolk, is brimming with confidence after dropping the weight with the help of Slimming World. And she has now launched her own group with the slimming brand, Norfolk Live reports.
Emma admitted she had struggled with her weight for a number of years and it became especially difficult after giving birth to her fourth child. Finding it nearly impossible to shift the pounds gained during pregnancy, Emma felt "embarrassed and sad".
Deciding enough was enough, the mother looked for support in her area before turning to Slimming World. Despite her nerves, she felt part of the group instantly - and soon saw results.
She said: "I felt embarrassed, judged, sad and even alone and I knew I needed some help. It was nerve wrecking going to a group but joining my local Slimming World group but as soon as I walked in I was welcomed.
"I got so much support and immediately felt it was a safe space. Each week in group, members share their struggles and triumphs, exchange ideas, and motivate each other to reach their goals and I feel like I have made lasting changes in my life."
While losing weight was her main goal, Emma had to ensure that it fitted in with the life of a mum with a young family. She still wanted to be able to make and eat everyday foods with her loved ones.
She said: "With a few changes I have still been able to eat my favourites like spaghetti bolognese, roast dinner - and I love a jacket potato too! I still enjoy my glass of wine or a packet of crisps but I’ve learnt to fit them in."
With the support of her group and consultant, Emma
