Although it’s been nearly 20 years since the series finale of “Frasier” in 2004, the witty and verbose psychiatrist Frasier Crane is back with a new comedy series that’s simply titled “Frasier” in 2023. Its first two episodes drop on Paramount+ on Oct.
12, and will broadcast in a one-hour block on CBS a day later on Oct. 17. However, if you don’t want to wait, you can watch the new “Frasier” right now for free, when you sign up for a 7-day free trial for Paramount+.
After the trial is up, you can either cancel the streaming service altogether, or you can keep watching for $5.99/month for the basic ad-supported plan. And if you want to re-watch the entire original series, then you’re in luck.
All 11 seasons of “Frasier” are available to stream on Paramount+, too. Developed by Chris Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”) and Joe Cristalli (“Life in Pieces”), “Frasier” is about a now-retired Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) returning to Boston from Chicago to re-connect with his estranged son Frederick (Jack Cutmore-Scott) after spending years apart. The cast also features Nicholas Lyndhurst, Anders Keith, Jess Salgueiro, Toks Olagundoye and others.

Frasier starring Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Lyndhurst has received mixed reviews from critics.Led by showrunners Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli, the series sees Frasier Crane (Grammer) return to Boston – where the character was first introduced in 1980s sitcom Cheers before his own spin-off, Frasier, which was set in Seattle.Aside from the return of Grammer, the show largely features a new ensemble cast, including Lyndhurst as university professor Alan, Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier’s son Freddy, Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David, Jess Salgueiro as Eve and Toks Olagundoya as Olivia.Critics, who have viewed the first five episodes, have been left divided on the show’s new direction however. In a four-star review on the Guardian, Frasier is described as a “joy to watch” once you get past the early episodes.“Unlike the wretched reboot of Sex And The City, Frasier’s team has managed to update the comedy’s situation, incorporate Frasier’s greater age and its different challenges and diversify its casting without apparent strain,” the review reads.
