Britain’s Got Talent hopeful Andrew Stanton left viewers floored with his “horrifying” act. Walking on to the stage, Andrew refused to speak to Simon Cowell when asked for his name and what he’d be doing. Knowing he wasn’t going to get a response, the judge simply wished Andrew luck.
Andrew was then joined on stage by his assistant before clambering on top of a box in front of the judge’s table and revealing a large sword. He then swallowed the sword, much to the audience and judge’s horror, as Alesha Dixon looked on the verge of passing out. Continuing to showcase his talent by swallowing an array of swords, he then proceeded to ask Amanda Holden to come up on to the stage with him.
Reluctantly going up, Amanda led down on the floor with a belt on her that had two chains. It was unclear what Andrew was going to do until he proceeded to hook the clasps at the end of the chains to his bottom eyelids, leaving the audience speechless. Astounded viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
“That was absolutely horrifying [crying face emoji],” said one fan, as someone else wrote: “I gag brushing my teeth nearly threw up watching that lmao”. “#BGT wtf have i just witnessed?!! That was insane but brilliant gosh... he is certifiably crazy as f**k!” added a third.
Someone else went on to say that they were “traumatised” by the performance. Elsewhere, others expressed concerns about such an act being on a family friendly programme. “#BGT not convinced that sword-swallowing act should be on tv at all, never mind pre-watershed.
