Some make-up products just take you back to a certain time, don’t they? Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, Sun-In Spray and Lancôme Juicy Tubes, to name but a few. So we were delighted when TV royalty Holly Willoughby served up a big old helping of nostalgia during her most recent appearance on Dancing On Ice, wearing another beauty favourite from days gone by.
Although the super sparkly eye look certainly appeared expensive, the bargain buy in question in fact costs less than a fiver. Holly’s make-up artist Patsy O’Neill shared a breakdown of the star’s beauty look, confirming she had used secondary school favourite Barry M Glitter Dust glitter pots, £4.59 here.To create the out of this world shine, Patsy mixed the Barry M icon with a “vintage” MAC Glitter Reflects in Pearl, £17.50 here, offset with a slick of SUQQU Colour Ink Liquid Eyeliner, £25 here.
If, like us, you love yourself a bit of beauty nostalgia, it’s worth noting that this isn’t the only time that a celebrity has provided us with a major beauty throwback recently. Fearne Cotton made a strong case for the return of crimped hair, which dominated the eighties and nineties.Taking to Instagram, the 40 year old shared the eighties-inspired look, which she wore to a friend’s birthday party, with her 3.8 million followers.
As well as her volumised and crimped blonde hair, Fearne paired her costume with pink eyeshadow and thick liner for an overall look that gave us real Madonna vibes. "I had forgotten how long it takes to crimp hair and seemingly now have repetitive strain injury in my right hand," she joked in the picture's caption.
