History on Dancing with the Stars as same-sex couples to take to the floor

Sitting down with OK! magazine for an exclusive interview, TV star Rob Rinder – otherwise known as Judge Rinder – told us all about an exciting offer that he’s been made involving a return to Strictly Come Dancing. The star of The Rob Rinder Verdict revealed to us that he’s been offered the chance to appear on the show again, this time as part of a same-sex couple.

Dancing on Ice’sIan ‘H’ Watkins has called on Strictly Come Dancing to allow same-sex couples to compete on the show.The 43 year old former Steps star said it was Strictly’s “turn” as he was voted off of the skating show by the judges. Speaking to the camera during his exit speech, Ian was met with applause as he said: “Strictly, it’s your turn next!” DOI fans praised Ian’s words on social media after calling on the BBC One dancing show to follow Dancing on Ice’s lead.

Irish television history was made tonight on RTÉ One, when Brian Dowling and Kai Widdrington, and Lottie Ryan and Emily Barker took to the floor as same-sex professional and celebrity dance partners, in a first for the dance series, both in Ireland and in the UK.

Congratulations to Dancing on Ice stars Kevin Kilbane and Brianne Delcourt, who are now engaged.
