A high school in Fort William has just been voted the most scenic in the country - thanks to its stunning backdrop of Ben Nevis.
Lochaber High School attracted over 20,000 votes in the Twitter poll run by the TES Magazine (formerly the Times Educational Supplement) as a bit of fun in the build-up to Christmas.
Photographs of nearly 50 schools from across the whole of Scotland were submitted after TES editor Henry Hepburn put the call out on Twitter.
"Early in November, a tweet appeared in my timeline highlighting a job at a school in the Western Isles," Henry explained. "It was accompanied by a stunning photo of the school.
"It got me thinking about how many beautiful locations there must be for schools in Scotland."
On a whim, he put a call out on Twitter and incredible photos from schools began to roll in.
After he created a "world cup" of scenic Scottish schools with the entries, Lochaber emerged as the overall winner on Christmas Eve after defeating fellow finalists Morgan Academy from Dundee in a poll that drew around 3,500 votes.
Henry added that it feels like everyone who took part was a winner due to the array of spectacular photo entries, he said: "Aside from letting us all see some breathtakingly picturesque settings for schools, the whole contest has been a reminder that schools are a focal point for communities - places that people rally around, root for and care deeply about.
"At the end of such a long and difficult year for Scottish education, it's been an absolute treat to organise all this - but it wouldn't have amounted to very much at all without schools and their communities up and down the land getting so involved.
"Congratulations once again to Lochaber High and to all the other many school communities

almost – to make up for the fact that the story itself is something of a letdown.A classic unreliable-narrator doc, the film is always fun to watch. But unlike, say, Ramin Bahrani’s “2nd Chance” — a 2022 Sundance doc that is intricately constructed to take the viewer through the twists and evasions doled out by its own unreliable narrator — “My Old School” works hard to put a stylish spin on a story whose surprises are telegraphed from the beginning. It gets off to a promising start, as we see actor Alan Cumming sitting down at a desk in a Scottish classroom, with titles letting us in on the film’s central conceit: “The man at the heart of this story does not want to show his face, but you will hear his voice.
Lady Gaga and Salma Hayek share a deadly friendship in House of Gucci, but there was apparently a whole other side of the relationship that never made it to the film’s final cut.“There’s a whole side of this film that you did not see where Pina [played by Hayek] and I developed a sexual relationship,” Gaga, 35 said during an MGM studios House of Gucci panel Q&A with the cast of the film.“Should I? Should I go? Should I tell them?” Hayek asked Gaga.“I remember being on set with Salma and going, ‘So after Maurizio dies, maybe it gets hot?’” said Gaga, which elicited a round of laughter from the audience.“You think she’s kidding,” Hayek said with a wry smile. While no reason was given for the sex scene hitting the cutting room floor, Lady Gaga suggested the footage may one day see the light of day. “Director’s cut, who knows?” she said.Hayek told the audience the two had developed a “delicious relationship” and that audience “didn’t get to see all of the scenes” between the two.
