A hero teenager has been awarded £75 compensation after he was assaulted whilst rescuing his mother from having her hair torn out during a fight with another woman. The boy bravely intervened when his barmaid mum was ambushed by Kelly Stones on her driveway as she was returning home from a shift at a pub.
Miss Stones, 39, who had earlier been thrown out of the pub, grabbed the mother by the hair and pulled out clumps with her hand whilst her boyfriend Paul Fairclough, 39, told the teen: ''Do you want it as well because you are old enough to take it now?''
The youngster helped his father split the two women up but he was pushed into a bush as police were called to the scene in Culcheth, near Warrington, Cheshire. Officers who investigated the attack in December last year discovered it had arisen out of a neighbour's feud.
At Warrington Magistrates' Court, Fairclough was ordered to pay damages to the hero teen and complete 120 hours in unpaid work after he was convicted of assault. Miss Stones was fined £100 after she was found guilty of assaulting the hero's mum.
The couple were also banned from contacting the victims for 12 months under the terms of a restraining order over the attack described as a ''moment of madness' by JPs.
Edward Rattigan, prosecuting, said Miss Stones was asked to leave the pub by the manager after an argument broke out when the victim's partner arrived to pick her up on December 16.
As the mum and partner walked to their house, she was approached by Miss Stones. The victim's partner then pushed her out of the way and she fell to the floor, the court heard.
Mr Rattigan said: “(The victim) started to walk down the path when Kelly Stones grabbed her by the hair and pulls her to the floor, punching
