HBO Max: Everything to Know About the New WarnerMedia Streaming Service

All hail “Steve Thee Stallion”! A video featuring the face of Steve Harvey, 63, edited onto the body of Megan Thee Stallion, 25, from a past performance of her hit “Big Ole Freak” has gone viral. The original clip stemmed from Meg’s 25-minute performance from NPR’s Tiny Desk series, which debuted back in December. While it’s definitely still Meg’s voice and body, the editing magician covered the Houston native’s face with Steve’s, who appears to rap the racy track word-for-word!

NBCUniversal is joining the growing ranks of new streaming services, including — but definitely not limited to — Apple TV+, Disney+, HBO Max, and Quibi.

HBO Max has picked up the 2020 Sundance award winner Charm City Kings from Sony Pictures. The new digital streaming service from WarnerMedia will release the drama under its Warner Max label sometime this year.

And with a new streaming service being launched every other week, you can't just subscribe to them all.

HBO Max, the upcoming streaming service from AT&T Inc-owned WarnerMedia, will be available across Google platforms and devices when it launches on May 27, the company said on Wednesday.

Seth Rogen's An American Pickle is moving across town and across media. HBO Max, the new digital streaming service from WarnerMedia, has acquired worldwide rights to the Rogen-starring comedy from Sony Pictures and will release the movie this summer under its Warner Max label.

HBO Max is launching on May 27, and in addition to the growing list of licensed titles that will be on offer to fans, WarnerMedia's new streaming service will also introduce some new original series and movies.

Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey will be there for you on streaming once again on May 27 when HBO Max officially launches. While the anticipated Friends cast reunion with Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc won't be available at launch date—it was never filmed due to the coronavirus spread and social distancing guidelines—it will eventually drop on the new streaming platform.

Dr. Dre's seminal 1992 debut The Chronic is finally on streaming services. The album hit Tidal on Sunday and debuted on Apple Music and Spotify on Monday morning. Happy 4/20.

WarnerMedia is moving into the already-crowded streaming service market this May with HBO Max. The new streaming platform will combine titles from across the Warner Bros. film and TV library as well as introduce original films and series, but it will have to compete with established services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, as well as CBS All Access, Disney+, Apple TV+, and NBCUniversal's Peacock.

The executives behind HBO Max gave their first real preview of the new streaming service in late 2019, announcing its $14.99 subscription cost and the May 2020 launch. HBO Max also unveiled its slate of original programming. Some shows, like Kaley Cuoco's The Flight Attendant and the Gossip Girl sequel series, had been announced previously, but WarnerMedia made a couple of surprise announcements, including a Green Lantern TV series from Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti.
