Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers has revealed what 'first' left him emotional following his cancer diagnosis. It was in May last year that the chef told fans that he was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with the disease.
Dave, who hasn't specified where the cancer was found, revealed the news of his cancer diagnosis on an episode of the pair's Agony Uncles podcast and said that he didn't want to 'hide under a rock', but said he would be away from work and asked fans to 'respect his privacy' as he underwent treatment.
But the 65-year-old, who found fame as one half of cooking duo the Hairy Bikers alongside friend Simon 'Si' King, has since undergone treatment and welcomed in 2023 by saying cancer was ‘something one learns to live with’.

However, much to fans' delight, Dave and Si King are set to our screens with a new show. The eight-part series will follow the culinary delights of Britain’s west shores as the duo celebrate the food and people along the way.
Their journey on The Hairy Bikers Go West, will begin on Bute Island, before they travel through Dumfries and Galloway, Lancashire, Merseyside and The Isle of Man, North Wales, along The Severn Estuary and Somerset.
And the move back to travelling around the country was emotional for Dave as it also meant he could get back on his beloved bike for the first time after 'gruelling' chemotherapy left him unable to walk.
"It’s been hard but I’m not the only one and I’m getting through it and I’m back at work," Dave said before adding to The Yorkshire Post: "I've had to learn to walk again and ride my bike again, and to get on my bike again with Kingy in the sunshine
