Neighbours star Stefan Dennis says he “surprised himself” when he became emotional on the last day of filming the long-running Australian soap.The actor, who played the villainous Paul Robinson, said it was “a melancholy day” as he looked back at his experiences from the past 37 years, including run-ins with the Royal Family.The soap first aired in 1985 and follows the lives of those living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough, with Dennis joining the show as one of the original cast members. Neighbours is making a return in the UK, but not in the way you would expect. The Australian based soap is planning a UK theatre tour after the long-running show was axed from both its Aussie channel and UK broadcaster, Channel 5, in August.
