Andrew Bird has announced details of his new album ‘Inside Problems’ – you can listen to his new single ‘Underlands’ below.The US singer/songwriter will follow up his 2020 solo album ‘Hark!’ with the new record, which is set for release on June 3 via Loma Vista / Concord.Speaking about ‘Inside Problems’, which was produced by Mike Viola and recorded live by Bird and his four-piece band, Bird said: “I have so much fun taking my ideas apart before they really have defined themselves as distinct songs, when they’re still in that amoeba-like state.“I love the feeling of chasing ideas and having them split off and go hang out with another idea and then butting them up against each other to see if they talk to each other.”Bird has previewed ‘Inside Problems’ this week with the single ‘Underlands’, which you can hear above.“You just don’t know what’s under the surface, be it the land, the sea, our skin,” Bird explained in a press release about the track. “You could be whistling away, projecting contentedness, when really there’s a swirling twisted mess underneath.

Hot Chip have announced details of their new album ‘Freakout/Release’ – you can hear their new single ‘Down’ below.The forthcoming record will be the follow-up to the five-piece’s ‘A Bath Full Of Ecstasy’, which was released back in June 2019.Hot Chip’s eighth studio album ‘Freakout/Release’ will be released on August 19 via Domino. Written and recorded in the band’s Relax & Enjoy studio in east London, the making of the album was particularly inspired by the band’s regular live cover of Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’.“The idea of being out of control is always there in dance music, in a positive sense,” Hot Chip’s Al Doyle said in a press release in relation to the cover’s influence on the new album, with frontman Alexis Taylor adding: “By the time we were able to be back together, we were turning on a tap and having a lot of ideas being poured out quite quickly.”In regards to the lyrical themes of ‘Freakout/Release’, Joe Goddard said: “We were living through a period where it was very easy to feel like people were losing control of their lives in different ways. Faye Webster has announced a new orchestral EP titled ‘Car Therapy Sessions’ with the release of a music video for the EP’s title track.The EP, which will be released on April 29, contains four tracks from Webster’s 2021 album ‘I Know I’m Funny, Haha’ and 2019’s ‘Atlanta Millionaires Club’ as re-imagined by Webster and a full orchestra. Poliça have announced details of new album ‘Madness’ and shared the pulsating first single from the record – listen to ‘Alive’ below.‘Madness’ is out June 3 and has been described as “something of a companion piece” to 2020’s ‘When We Stay Alive’.The album was mostly recorded between 2020 and 2021 in Ryan Olson’s Minneapolis studio and was partially created by anthropomorphic production tool “AllOvers(c)”, which was designed by Olson and fellow producer and sound-artist Seth Rosetter.According to vocalist Channy Leaneagh, the lyrics across ‘Madness’ represent the idea that “I am here for you all and I am never truly myself here.
