‘Tetris’ Review: Taron Egerton Drama Uses Retro Nostalgia to Re-Imagine the True Story of Classic Game

There’s a promising and even semi-adult comedy at the heart of “Tetris,” an otherwise corny action-adventure based on the real-life story of how the iconic 1980s computer and video game was licensed outside of Russia. Most of the plot of “Tetris” concerns the political maneuvering and corporate espionage required to smuggle “Tetris,” the iconic brick-laying puzzle game, out of Moscow and away from greedy businessmen. The lead protagonist of “Tetris” (the movie) also happens to be its main hero, an uncomplicated leading man whose personal motives don’t matter so much as the vague and never credibly represented virtues of “Tetris” (the game).

Karol G’s ‘Mañana Será Bonito’ Makes Latin Music History With Launch to No. 1

Thania Garcia Karol G’s deeply introspective “Mañana Será Bonito” has made a historic entrance on the albums chart as the first all-Spanish-language record by a female artist to hit No. 1. The collection — which spans pop, rock, reggaeton, Mexican music and electronica — is also the Colombian artist’s first leader on the Billboard 200. All four of Karol’s studio albums have charted on the all-genre Billboard 200, though “Mañana” is the first to enter the top 10 of the list. Before this, Karol’s highest charting effort was her last 2021 record, “KG0516,” which reached a peak of No. 20. Only two other all-Spanish albums have previously led the list, both were by reggaeton titan Bad Bunny (“Un Verano Sin Ti” in 2022 and “El Ultimo Tour del Mundo” in 2020).

Paul Stanley says a reunion of KISS’ original line-up would be more like ‘PISS’

KISS singer and guitarist Paul Stanley has spoken about the idea of a reunion of KISS’ original line-up, saying it would be more like “PISS”.The US band was formed by Stanley, singer and bassist Gene Simmons, guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss in 1973. However, Frehley and Criss went on to leave the band in the ‘80s, although both have performed with the band since. In their current form, KISS features Stanley, Simmons, guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer. In a new interview, Stanley was asked why the band had not performed at their Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction in 2014 – and if it was because Thayer and Singer were not included in the inductions. “The hypocrisy is that we’re not a band they like,” the guitarist told The Howard Stern Show.
