Just days before his tragic death, TV star George Gilbey posted a picture of himself smiling to the camera on social media. It was announced that he passed away today (March 27) at just 40 years old and fans have been left devastated. George - who was best known for his appearances on Gogglebox and Celebrity Big Brother - died after an alleged accident in the workplace.
But it was only five days ago that he took to social media to share a grinning picture, and captioned it: "Done. Full membership," alongside an image of a gym card. The reality TV star donned a black hoodie for the post and appeared to have been out exercising in the picture.
Following his heartbreaking death, tributes have begun flooding in for George, with one fan writing on social media: "Absolutely speechless. Rest in eternal peace George James Gilbey." Another said that he was, "one in a million". Former Geordie Shore star Ricci Guarnaccio also tweeted his sadness about losing his "brother".
He wrote: "Breaks my [heart emoji] but @georgegilbey you are well and truly going to be missed my friend. Always lit up the room, cared for others & the memories we made I'll cherish for ever brother. From CBB to speaking to you last week, I'm going to hugely miss you ma boiii!"," he continued.
Essex Police this afternoon also said: "We received a report of an incident at Campfield Road in Shoebury at around 10am this morning (27 March), during which a man who was working at height had fallen and sustained an injury. "The ambulance service including air ambulance were in attendance. Sadly, the man died at the scene.
