Gogglebox faves and comedy husband and wife, Giles Wood and Mary Killen, have teased a huge life change after eight years on the hit show. Beloved by Gogglebox fans, the two are popular figures on the show, sounding off about the week's telly from their cosy Wiltshire cottage.
Speaking about their current abode in their new book Country Life: A Story of Peaks and Troughs, Giles is quick to state that "were I a shrub, I would say I have tentatively put down roots here in Wiltshire." Yet he then continued with his thoughts on moving location completely, saying: "They are not yet thick or stubborn enough to prevent me from uprooting myself for the final chapter of my life. After 30 years, I am now ready to transplant myself again." Agony aunt Mary agreed with plans to up sticks and move back to the city, stating her inability to drive has been tricky to navigate.
"As a woman who can’t drive, I have been exiled these past three decades to a village without a bus service. It means that, over the years, I’ve missed at least 600 London parties, gallery openings and book launches, to say nothing of memorial services and lectures and art exhibitions." And in-keeping with their whacky personalities, the two who have been married for 30 years, have decided that perhaps living a quieter country life isn't for them after all.
Mary has suggested that embracing a faster pace of life might be just around the corner. She says, "I’m certain that a London dwelling would be the best choice for the final decade of life.
