Ben Shephard has celebrated his close pal and Good Morning Britain co-star Kate Garraway as she's been nominated for an award. Kate, 54, who has been documenting her husband Derek Draper's Covid-19 illness and recovery, is in the running to win Network Presenter of the Year after being nominated by the Royal Television Society.
Krishnan Guru-Murthy from Channel 4 News and Kirsty Wark from BBC Newsnight have also been named in the category. Speaking on the ITV show, Ben, 47, announced the news as he shared: "We are absolutely thrilled to bits that the RTS, the Royal Television Society, has nominated – and you'll be surprised and delighted like we all were – but for Network Presenter of the Year, the one and only Miss Kate Garraway!"
