Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker has announced a surprise Glastonbury DJ set tonight (June 28) at 1am.On the official Glastonbury website, the slot between 1am and 2am on the Firmly Rooted Soundsystem stage reads “TBA”, but Parker’s name is listed in the programme.The blurb under it reads, “The Antipodean psychedelic rock icon takes to the decks.” Meanwhile, Parker has confirmed the news on the official Tame Impala Instagram account, too. “GLASTONBURY come see me tonight at the Firmly Rooted sound system in Silver Hayes at 1am,” he wrote.

He called out for help from listeners, saying: “I don’t think it’s playing out because it’s gone deadly silent in the studio, which is quite strange.” But the consummate professional kept his cool, adding: “I’m fascinated by it because these things excite me when things go wrong on air.” The 50-year-old presenter was not the only DJ affected, as fellow radio presenter Jeremy Vine said he had issues with the system while he was practising his show earlier that day.
