Glastonbury 2024 announce stacked line-up for Woodsies area

Glastonbury Festival has announced the full 2024 line-up for Strummerville, featuring Frank Turner, Lambrini Girls and more.The legendary Worthy Farm event will take place between June 26-30, boasting headline sets from Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA, as well as performances from the likes of Shania Twain, LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz and The National.Following the initial wave of acts being confirmed in March, organisers have been drip-feeding separate posters for the festival’s many areas and stages – including Left Field, Woodsies, The Glade, the Acoustic Stage, Silver Hayes, The Common and The Park.Today (May 16), Glastonbury has dropped the full day-by-day programme for Strummerville – its area dedicated to the late Clash frontman Joe Strummer, who played Glasto’s main stage in 1999.Located high on the hill by Worthy Gate, the space offers “the festival’s finest viewpoint, Joe’s iconic 24-hour campfire, cafe and CasBar”. Its “humble” live stage hosts “some of the finest and eclectic talents out there”.This year, it’ll be headlined by Dennis Just Dennis, Rompa’s Reggae Shack, Ged Lever and Cumbia Kid.

Glastonbury 2024, Avril Lavigne has announced details of a new greatest hits album.The Canadian pop-rock icon is set to release the album on June 21 – just days before she performs at the legendary Worthy Farm festival for the first time.Comprised of 20 songs, the LP will span the entirety of Lavigne’s music career. This includes fan favourites including the RIAA three-times platinum-certified ‘Complicated’ and two-times platinum-certified ‘Sk8er Boi’. Both are taken from her chart-topping 2002 debut album ‘Let Go’.More recent tracks are also included, including those from her seventh studio album ‘Love Sux’.

Secret Garden Party has announced the line-up for its 2024 edition, and revealed that it is scrapping big headliners in a bid to help support grassroots artists.The announcement was made today (May 13), and confirms that over 350 artists will be performing at this year’s edition of the festival.Set to run across July 25 and July 28, the UK’s leading independent festival has shaken things up for 2024, and has dropped the inclusion of big name headliners in a bid to help support the growth of emerging talent.Unkle, Crystal Fighters, Chinchilla, Franky Wah, Carly Wilford, Adelphi Music Factory, Jakkob, Omega Nebula, Technobrass and TC & The Groove are among those lined up for this year’s instalment. Meanwhile, independent collectives Chai Wallahs, The Living Room, and Noiganica will be hosting dedicated venues for diverse, grassroots live music.Elsewhere, collectives including Save Our Scene, Parable Music, Dubtendo and Truth Tribe have joined forces with the festival to provide exciting stage takeovers.

Glastonbury Festival has clarified whether or not punters can expect the Euros football matches to be shown at this year’s instalment.The has been some debate from music lovers over recent years on whether or not the Worthy Farm festival should broadcast football matches for punters attending the event over the summer.Generally, organisers have opted against the decision, although some exceptions have been made in the past.Now, with the Euros in mind, the festival has shared a statement discussing the stance it will be taking for the 2024 edition.“Should England or Scotland’s men’s teams qualify from the group stages of this summer’s European Football Championships in Germany, their matches in the Last 16 of the tournament could take place on the Saturday or Sunday evening of this year’s Festival,” read a post on the festival’s website.“In previous years, we have endeavoured to show notable matches on big screens where possible, particularly on days before the main stages have opened.“However, with England and Scotland’s Last 16 matches potentially clashing with headline sets at this year’s Festival, the decision has been made that – as in 2014 and 2016 – should England or Scotland qualify from their groups, their Last 16 matches will not be shown at the Festival.”The post continued, explaining why they have shared the news so far in advance, and sharing their best wishes to the teams.“It won’t be known until the week of the Festival whether or not England or Scotland will actually play a match during the Festival.

They will be joined by acts such as Bonobo, Joy Orbison, I.
