Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst says a continuation of his side's injury woes will see him sign new players in January.
The Light Blues have a raft of injuries in central defence, with Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Filip Helander all injured . Ianis Hagi and Tom Lawrence are also on the long-term absence list and Ridvan Yilmaz has now picked up a knee problem. Van Bronckhorst says that it is still too early to tell what things will look like in the middle of winter, but if things don't get better, business will be done. But he hopes injuries will have improved by then.
When asked about January business, the Rangers boss replied: "If it stays like this, of course we need to look to do something. But it is still only half of October so we have two-and-a-half months until the January window opens. I am hopeful we have players back at that time.
Meanwhile, van Bronckhorst has reacted to predecessor Steven Gerrard being given the axe by Aston Villa, and he is full of sympathy.
The Dutchman added: “Since I joined here I was regularly in contact with Steven about his time here and we talked about his games at Aston Villa and mine at Rangers.
“First of all I feel for Steven because he was sacked yesterday and I sent him a message this morning. All managers will face it at one time.
"It’s not what you want because we are all dedicated to our jobs and we give everything to get success to the club but you know if that is not going well then the pressure is on you."
