Gemma Owen’s dig at Molly-Mae: ‘We’re completely different - my style is unique’

As Gemma Owen launches her first edit with PrettyLittleThing.com, the Love Island 2022 finalist has opened up about why she and Molly-Mae Hague are "completely different". Many have commented on the 19 year old following in the footsteps of PLT's creative director, Molly-Mae, 22, after it was announced the brunette star bagged herself a staggering six-figure deal with the fashion giant in August. And with her new collection under her belt, Michael Owen's daughter Gemma tells OK!: "I think my style is timeless and in the moment.
"I think my edit is mine, it's true to me and what I am." Gemma continued: "I think obviously, I've got a lot of respect for Molly-Mae, and she's an inspiration to a lot of girls. "But I think we are completely different people, I like to think I’m unique. I think my style is timeless." Gemma also spoke of who her fashion inspirations are: "There are so many people out there to choose from.
I think there are a lot of people that have a really, really good style. "But yeah, I think Kim Kardashian is the obvious one there. I'm pretty sure everyone probably will agree that she's an icon.
And I definitely look up to her." Gemma told us that she was often buying her clothes from PLT long before collaborating with the brand. "I think PLT is just one of the brands that appeal to so many people," says Gemma. "Before the show, it was definitely a brand I had bought from before.
"So, I thought it was a really natural, authentic fit for me especially with coming off the show and they have a new demographic audience now. I thought it would just be perfect."
