A woman has been left living in fear after her gangster ex ordered a firebomb attack at her family home. Emergency crews were called to the blaze outside a property in Baillieston in Glasgow shortly after midnight on Monday.
The woman, who we have chosen not to name over concerns for her safety, told the Record the attack was ordered by her former boyfriend from behind bars, after he was locked up for assaulting her.
She claims the thug is heavily connected to crime clans in the east end of the city. She told the Record: "My ex was locked up last week for domestic abuse and carrying a weapon so this is a revenge attack.
"He’s connected to an East End crime family and this was ordered from behind bars.
"We know it was targeted and he's going after my family. We're fearing for our lives because we don't know what lengths he will go to next to hurt us.
“We don’t feel safe in our own home."
The torched vehicle was a silver Skoda belonging to the woman's dad.
Shocked locals raised the alarm after two 'loud bangs' were heard before the car exploded in the quiet residential street.
The family were woken by their panicked neighbours at their front door before seeing the Skoda engulfed in flames.
Firefighters battled to stop the inferno before it spread to other cars parked nearby.
Pictures from the scene show the burnt out vehicle parked just metres from the front doors of family homes. The car tyres have been melted and the windows were blown out in the blaze.
The woman said her dad has been left distraught after losing the vehicle he relied on for work. She continued: "The car was my dad's livelihood so we are devastated.
"We are good hard-working people and now we are worried about money as well as our safety.
