French Actor Judith Chemla Reveals Photos of Alleged Domestic Violence Injury, Threatens to File Third Complaint

Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentFrench actor Judith Chemla posted photos of her bruised face on her Instagram account on Sunday and said they were taken a year ago after she was allegedly assaulted by her then-boyfriend Yohan Manca, a filmmaker with whom she shares a daughter.In her emotional post, Chemla said she was finally revealing these photos because she was still being harassed by Manca, a year after the alleged incident involving Manca throwing a cell phone at her. The alleged domestic abuse occurred on June 3 near the Theatre du Rond-Point in Paris. The next day, Chemla filed a police complaint and canceled her trip to Cannes where she was expected to present “Mes freres et moi,” a film directed by Manca in which she had a role.

Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentThousands of staffers and freelancers working for France’s public broadcasting groups, spanning France Televisions, France 24, Arte and Radio France, went on strike on Tuesday in Paris to protest against the government’s proposed bill to eliminate a TV license fee that finances nearly 85% of their annual budgets.It’s considered to be French broadcasters’ biggest strike in the last 30 years, according to a source at France Televisions. Flagship programs such as morning news show “Telematin” didn’t air a new episode on Tuesday for the first time in three decades, along with “Complement d’Enquête” and a flurry of others.The demonstration was held in front of the National Assembly, where the proposed bill to phase out the TV license fee will be presented before the council of ministers on July 6.

EXCLUSIVE: IMAX and Pathé Live have set a new partnership to bring French pop-rock band Indochine to IMAX screens this fall. On Saturday June 25, the sold-out Indochine – Central Tour concert at the Groupama Stadium in Lyon, France will be shot with 22 IMAX-certified cameras. This will be the first concert ever released through the Filmed for IMAX camera program when rollout begins across France and select markets on November 23. It will then screen for one-evening only in non-IMAX cinemas the following day. IMAX currently has 17 theaters across France.
