Freedom Fibre’s mission to deliver lightning-fast broadband to towns across the North West continues, as they expand their build across Warrington, covering Newton-Le-Willows, Stockton Heath, Culcheth, Croft, Winwick & Glazebury.
With a combined total of £10m of investment into the digital infrastructure of Warrington, approximately 5,000 homes and businesses in Culcheth, 8,000 in Newton-Le-Willows, and 2,000 in Stockton Heath can now connect to the network, with broadband packages that provide speeds of up to 900Mb/s available through Freedom Fibre’s partnership with Internet Service Provider, TalkTalk.
The switch to full-fibre (FTTP) is being heralded by Alt-Net providers as a solution to the country’s connectivity issues, as even standard fibre networks (FTTC) currently use copper which can deteriorate over long distances, slowing down average speeds and creating unreliable connections.
For the towns in Warrington, gigabit-capable infrastructure will support an increase in the gross output of these areas and add millions of pounds in economic value**.
According to a 2018 report conducted by Regeneris, among many other benefits, the implementation of full-fibre broadband can:
Increase productivity levels through improved connectivity.
Act as a driver for competitive advantage.
Create new employment opportunities both directly through the build, attracting businesses to the areas, and indirectly through improved business outputs.
Increase digital inclusion and access to education.
Full-fibre can also directly benefit residents in more ways than just increased broadband speeds.
A report issued by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport suggests that connecting your home to a full-fibre broadband

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film Critic More often than not, an internationally known freedom fighter will have a personality and temperament as heroic as the actions that made him famous. Just look at Nelson Mandela, Alexei Navalny, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, or — as controversial a figure as he remains — Edward Snowden, who for 10 years has conducted himself as a profile in courage. But there are times when the personal and the political don’t sit so easily in the same person. Julian Assange is one of those people. From the moment he launched WikiLeaks, the renegade website that provided an anonymous home for journalists and whistleblowers to spill the secrets and dump the documents of global power, there was an air of absolutism about him, a bombs-away belief in the rightness of his actions that teetered, at times, into anarchistic recklessness. Assange, like Snowden, exposed important revelations about how governments, in particular the government of the United States, operate: the corruptions and cover-ups and collateral damage. Unlike Snowdown, he served up his exposés in an aggressive, indiscriminate way that seemed designed to place himself at the center of the conversation.
