A special dog show will be taking place in the city centre this April featuring a jam-packed line-up of ‘pawtastic’ fun.
The Ex-Paw Extravaganza will return to Angel Meadow Park on April 27 from 11am to 4pm featuring a day of expert talks, interactive activities, and a dog show to raise money for charity.
The free-to-attend festival will feature a range of stalls selling dog wear, accessories and treats, whilst Fairfield Social Club’s newest venue, located next door to the park on Irk Street, will be serving up food from ISIT Kitchen and hosting an Extravaganza After Pawty in the evening.

The festival’s dog show will see canine companions compete in five different categories including Cutest Pup, Golden Oldie, Waggiest Tail, Talentful Trickster and Best Dressed. It costs £4 to enter the competition, with 50% being donated to Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home. Winners of each category will receive a goodie bag and a very exclusive Ex-Paw Rosette.
The festival, which is supported by Far East Consortium, Manchester City Council, Smooth Radio and Solid Ground, will also feature expert talks from My Pet First Aid and Greater Manchester’s newest pug café CuppaPug, which recently opened up its first Northern venue on Chapel Street in Salford.
Of course, no festival would be complete without a drink (or two) so Foundation Coffee House will be on hand to offer out free puppacinos to all dogs attending the event throughout the day.
Speaking about the event, organisers behind the festival said: “A new addition to the event this year is our breed-specific meet ups which will take place throughout the day and will be an opportunity for you to meet
