Latitude Festival has announced a swathe of new names for its 2024 line-up, including The Darkness, Future Islands, Lankum and The Vaccines.The festival will return on the weekend of July 25-28 in Henham Park, Suffolk, and last month revealed its 2024 headliners as Duran Duran, Kasabian, Keane and London Grammar.Also on today’s line-up announcement are Jockstrap, CMAT, Waxahatchee, Baby Queen and Marika Hackman.The festival’s comedy line-up for 2024 has also been revealed, with headliners Jo Brand, Judi Love and Joanne McNally joining the previously announced Sara Pascoe.See the full Latitude 2024 line-up so far.

Killers of the Flower Moon confirmed today, Martin Scorsese has become the living director with the most Oscar nominations.The Academy included the 81-year-old on their Best Director shortlist, giving him his tenth nomination in total, and overtaking Steven Spielberg’s nine.Scorsese’s nominations go back to 1980’s Raging Bull, but he has only won the prize once, for 2006’s The Departed. His other recent nominations include The Irishman, The Wolf of Wall Street and Hugo.

Adam Driver has had enough of journalists asking him why he’s played two Italian roles in quick succession on the press tour for Ferrari.The actor made an appearance on the SmartLess podcast with Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes on Monday (January 1), where the subject of him playing two Italian men in two recent movies came up. Driver played Maurizio Gucci in 2021’s House Of Gucci and Enzo Ferrari in Michael Mann’s biopic Ferrari.Speaking about how he hasn’t been very strategic in his acting career so far, Driver joked that the decision to play the two roles in quick succession was a “good example of not being strategic in a way that I probably should”.“So many people have been like, ‘How many Italians…?’ I’m like, it’s just kind of worked out that way,” Driver said, noting that someone on his PR team should have warned him it would “come up a lot” on the Ferrari press tour.“But I’m like, you know, it’s Ridley [Scott] and it’s Michael [Mann] and they’re in my mind some of the best filmmakers,” he said.

If the titles below make the cut, it will be a thrilling year on the festival circuit once again.
