Former Tory MP Imran Ahmad Khan has been sentenced to 18 months in jail for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy. Khan, 48, was found guilty last month following a trial.
Following his conviction, he was expelled from the Conservative Party and resigned, triggering a by-election in the constituency of Wakefield, West Yorkshire. At the time of the offence, he forced the then-teenager to drink gin and tonic and watch pornography, the court heard.
The incident happened at a house in Staffordshire following a party in January 2008. The victim, now 29, said he was left feeling "scared, vulnerable, numb, shocked and surprised", after Khan, 34 at the time, touched his feet and legs.

The court heard how he reached within "a hair's breadth" of the victim's privates as he went to sleep in a top-bunk bed. Khan, who denied sexual assault, was sentenced to 18 months at Southwark Crown Court on Monday by Mr Justice Baker.
The judge said that Khan had shown no remorse for his actions, stating: "The only regret you feel is towards yourself for having found yourself in the predicament you face as a result of your actions some 14 years ago."
After the incident in 2008, the victim ran to his parents and a police report was made at the time, however, no further action was taken because the teenager didn't want to make a formal complaint. However, he told jurors "it all came flooding back" when he learned Khan was standing in the December 2019 general election.
Days ahead of the poll, the victim said he contacted the Conservative Party press office to inform them of what Khan did to him, but he added: "I wasn't taken very seriously."
