EastEnders star Ashvin Luximon has died at the age of 38. The soap star died of an aneurysm on July 23, his family have confirmed as they paid tribute to their ‘loving son, brother and friend’. Luximon is best known for playing Asif Mailk in the BBC drama, a role he portrayed from September 1999 to October 2003, appearing in 146 episodes.
The Enfield-born TV star also appeared in promotional videos for bus safety and British Airways and his other TV appearances include Grange Hill and Hope and Glory. His family have set up a tribute site in Luximon’s honour, where people can make donations and ‘share any happy thoughts, memories and photos’ they have of beloved ‘Ash’. ‘This site is a tribute to Ash, who passed on the 23rd July 2022 due to an aneurysm’, they write.
‘Ash’s unexpected passing has hit us all hard, but we want to take the time to remember his larger than life spirit. He loved and was loved by so many. ‘He sang a mean karaoke tune and had a voice loud enough to hear from space! He brought laughter and the best cuddles.
’The family have asked anyone who would have made a floral tribute to instead donate to their chosen charities, including Andy’s Man Club (a charity aimed at helping men talk) and the NSPCC, as they said ‘Ash was the ultimate uncle’. Luximon’s funeral service was held at Enfield Crematorium during the morning of August 11. Family encouraged attendees not to wear black but instead to wear colour so they could celebrate the star’s live ‘just as he would want us to’.

A statement from her agent Jean Diamond of Diamond Management reads: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine Tewson. “Josephine passed away peacefully last night at Denville Hall at the Age of 91.” The London-born actress attended grammar school before enrolling at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Rada), from which she graduated in 1952.
