A major road in Salford has been taped off for hours following a serious crash involving a motorbike and pedestrian. Police have been at the scene on Albion Way since earlier this evening.
Emergency services descended on the area at around 7pm tonight (August 11) following the collision. Firefighters attended the scene alongside police, who closed off the road in both directions between Liverpool Street and The Crescent.
Officers have remained in attendance late into the night. A forensic tent was seen on Albion Way, around halfway between either end of the closure.

The full nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed by police. It's not known if anyone has been injured following the collision.
People have been urged to stay away from the area while traffic has been diverted away from the scene. The closure remains ongoing while emergency services carry out their work.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters are currently supporting police at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on Albion Way in Salford where a motorcycle has collided with a pedestrian. The road is closed and people should avoid the area while the incident is ongoing."
A Transport for Greater Manchester spokesperson tweeted: "A5063 Albion Way, Salford is closed between The Crescent - Liverpool Street in both directions due to a police incident. Please find alternative route.
"Delays are expected on The Crescent and Regent Road."
Both Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
