Netflix drama Fool Me Once has become the most-watch show since appearing on the streaming service at the start of 2024. Many fans were gripped from the very first episode and binged-watched the thriller. Despite being watched across the world, most of the filming locations are actually in Manchester and Cheshire, in the north-west of England.
Viewers are even starting to recognise the mansion which features in many of the episodes, as it has been used for filming before.
The 15th century mansion is Arley Hall and Gardens, in Cheshire, which has previously been used for Peaky Blinders, The Great British Bake Off and CBeebies' Something Special. Fans pointed it out on TikTok, with one person sharing a picture of Cillian Murphy's Tommy Shelby walking away with the mansion behind him. They said: "I knew I recognised this home from somewhere." Another added: "Arley hall.
Just round the corner from me. Iconic building!" Netflix also shared a post confirming the location had been used for both Fool Me Once and Peaky Blinders. Alongside a picture showing both series, they posted on Facebook: "You can't fool me, that's Tommy Shelby's house! #FoolMeOnce." Someone replied: "It's also Lord Tumbles house on CBeebies." People can actually visit Arley Hall and its seven acres of informal gardens.
Families can enjoy a day out at the listed building, with access to the Gardener's Kitchen Café, Chapel, and Children's Play Zone. It's open several days a month and visitors can check ahead of time if it's open for their visit and pay upon entry, pre-booking is not required. Fool Me Once, starring Michelle Keegan, follows widowed Maya, who makes a startling discovery on her nanny cam.
