Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor The Austin City Limits Music Festival returns in 2023 with a lineup featuring headliners Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons, Shania Twain (Weekend One only), the Lumineers, Odesza, Alanis Morissette and the 1975 (Weekend Two only), along with Hozier, Kali Uchis, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Maggie Rogers, Labrinth, Cigarettes After Sex, Niall Horan, Tove Lo, Thirty Seconds to Mars and many more.  The nine-stage, two-weekend event will take place October 6-8 and October 13-15, 2023, at Zilker Park.  3-Day Tickets for both weekends will go on sale today at 12pm CT at http://www.aclfestival.com.  The festival also proudly announced: “No surprises at checkout – all fees and shipping costs are included upfront.” It also noted that 2023’s roster features 45% female performers, LGBTQ+ artists, “allies and icons,” as well as multiple Latin artists, including Ivan Cornejo, Kevin Kaarl, Eddie Zuko, and more. Weekend one will be broadcast on Hulu.

Foo Fighters were reportedly scheduled to perform on Saturday Night Live (SNL) before the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike forced cancellations.According to Entertainment Weekly, the band were supposed to perform for SNL‘s season final later this month alongside debuting host Jennifer Coolidge of The White Lotus. The now-cancelled episode would have marked the Foo Fighters’ eight performance on the long-running show.

Queen‘s Roger Taylor has responded to rumours that his son Rufus is joining Foo Fighters as their new live drummer.Rufus Taylor – the Godson of the late Taylor Hawkins, and current member of The Darkness – performed on-stage with the Foos at last year’s huge Hawkins tribute concerts, which took place in London and Los Angeles.He was one of the numerous guest drummers to join Dave Grohl and co at the emotional shows, appearing alongside the likes of Travis Barker, Nandi Bushell and Hawkins’ teenage son Shane.Last week saw Foo Fighters return with ‘Rescued’, their first single since Hawkins’ death in March 2022.
