Floral tributes laid to two teenagers killed in a horror e-bike crash have been branded a "safety risk".
Marcus Beck, 17, and Gregor Booth, 16, died following the horror four-vehicle smash, which happened on the A941 near Elgin at around 8pm on Monday. The incident has left loved ones completely devastated and dozens of bouquets, cards and even a pineapple has since been left at the scene.
However, police say they feared these were becoming a hazard as more and more travelled to the area, which is alongside a busy main road. And on Wednesday, officers asked Moray Council to help move the tributes to a safer spot, across the road near a cycle lane.
It comes as officers revealed they are probing a video circulating on social media which appeared to show the e-bike and its riders prior to the incident.
The horror incident happened at the junction with the B9135 and involved a Sur-ron Light Bee-X e-bike, a blue Vauxhall Mokka, a red Renault Clio, a black Vauxhall Corsa and a white VW Golf.
Ambulance crews attended but pals Marcus and Gregor, who were passengers on the e-bike, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their 14-year-old friend, who was driving the bike, was taken to nearby Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Medics describe his condition as stable.
Sergeant Iain Nicholson said: “Our extensive enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing and we are particularly keen to hear from anyone with information on a video which appears to show the e-bike and its riders at an earlier time.
