‘Flex X Cop’ renewed for season two, Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Ji-hyun in talks to return

The news comes as the police procedural, which is based on the Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent novels, has aired five episodes of its second season. The show has proven to be popular with audiences, building on its ratings each week since its second season premiered.

Will Trent will be back another go-round. Amid strong ratings, ABC has renewed the drama series, starring Ramón Rodríguez, for a third season.

The renewal extends the series’ record-breaking run as the longest running primetime medical drama in TV history, which it first became in 2019. It is also the longest running primetime scripted series in ABC history.

The series is currently filming its fourth season in New York, while the third season aired its finale in February. “We know that our fans can’t get enough of ‘Raising Kanan.’ As the inevitable evolution of this young man into a killer plays out, we knew we had much more backstory to share in this ever-escalating family saga,” said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming for Starz.

Season 1, which premiered in April 2023, was based on Laura Dave’s novel of the same name. Dave has newly set a sequel novel for publication in 2025, which will serve as the basis for Season 2.
