A man who died after a car crash ed with a bus on the A77 near Girvan has been named.
John Rae from Girvan was the driver of a White MG motor vehicle involved in a crash with a blue and white Volvo bus at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, July 13. Emergency services attended but the 58-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A77 was closed in both directions but has been running as normal since 7am this morning.
There were no other reported injuries. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Sergeant Christopher Hoggans of Ayrshire Roads Policing said: “Our thoughts are will the family and friends of Mr Rae at this very difficult time.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the crash to come forward with any information or dashcam footage. “Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident 3780 of 13 July.”
