Film Independent Spirit Awards Announce 2022 Emerging Filmmaker Grant Winners

UPDATED with awards dates: The Peabody Awards said Tuesday that it will announce the winning projects in its newest category, Digital and Interactive Storytelling, on March 24. The inaugural awards will be given to legacy media projects, with the category being folded into the main Peabody ceremony beginning in 2023.

She makes continuous trips to the beauty salon and uses home remedies to “cure” her body.

The Oscars still haven’t announced their host (or hosts), but the Spirit Awards are all set. Film Independent’s venerable showcase is returning to the beach and to two new hosts.

The 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards is returning to an in-person ceremony this year, and now the show has its hosts. Comedy power couple Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman will front the ceremony on March 6 at Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport.

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at LargeJon Brockett has been tapped to serve as executive producer of the Screen Actors Guild Awards this year, joining returning EP Kathy Connell at the helm. Brockett had previously served as a producer on the show, and has been a part of the SAG Awards since its fifth show, while Connell has been with the ceremony since it began in 1995.Brockett and Connell are a part of this year’s production team, which the SAG Awards announced on Thursday. Not returning are Hazy Mills Productions’ Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner, who served as EPs with Connell of the in-person 2019 and 2020 events, as well as last year’s pre-taped virtual special.For 2022, as previously reported, the SAG Awards are shaking things up by moving venues, to Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar.

Slowthai has announced a slate of dates for a brief North American tour. The Antisocial Roadshow tour is a seven-show run that kicks off in New York City on April 8 and will make stops in Toronto, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco before concluding in Boston on April 30.
