Football's world governing body FIFA has announced that they will implement new regulations later this year that limit the number of players clubs can loan in and out.
The radical plans, designed to put at end to 'player hoarding', are set to come into force in July after they are given final approval at next council meeting.
The new rules do not cover domestic loans, but FIFA has said national associations must bring their own regulations in line within three years - by July 1, 2025 at the latest.

What have FIFA said?
Football clubs around the world will be limited to a maximum of eight international loan signings in and eight loaned out from the start of next season, after FIFA announced radical new transfer regulations.
In 2020, when the changes were originally proposed, FIFA said the new regulations are intended to "ensure that loans have a valid sporting purpose for youth development".
Players aged 21 and younger and club-trained 'homegrown' players will be exempt from these new regulations and there will be a transitional period as FIFA progressively reduces the number of loan players a club can transfer in or out.
