Alt J have today (April 14) unveiled details of a one-off anniversary show at Brixton Academy.The gig will be a special one-off live performance of their 2012 debut album, ‘An Awesome Wave’, which went on to win the Mercury Prize.The band will be playing the album in full along with some “bonus tracks” at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on May 17. The eclectic singer-songwriter certainly hasn’t been shy about employing orchestration before, to the point of bringing his own sizable string section out on tour on his last pre-pandemic outing, probably at considerable personal expense.

Ellise Shafer Father John Misty is embarking on his first solo headlining tour since 2018.The elusive singer-songwriter has announced North American dates from June through October, and international dates set for late winter and spring 2023. Misty is touring in support of his upcoming album, “Chloë and the Next 20th Century,” which releases April 8. His Sub Pop label mate Suki Waterhouse will join him as the opener on the North American dates.

Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi (Don’t Look Up) is the last addition to the cast of the action-thriller Silent Night, from iconic action director John Woo (Face/Off), John Wick producers Thunder Road Films and Capstone Studios. He’s set to star alongside Joel Kinnaman, Harold Torres and Catalina Sandino Moreno.

Bloc Party played an intimate show at The Garage in London last night (March 30), where they debuted some of their new material – watch below.The show was announced earlier this month, with a press release stating that the London gig would provide “a special, intimate chance to hear the band’s new material” for the first time. The gig also marked the band’s first live show since 2019.Bloc Party’s sixth studio album ‘Alpha Games’ is out on April 29.
