The fate of Matthew Perry's beloved pet dog Alfred appears to have been decided as it's revealed that his ex-fiancée Molly Hurwitz will look after the pooch following the Friends star's tragic death.
As we reported, Matthew's Friends co-star Lisa Kudrow had reportedly been considering taking on Alfred but, according to Peopl e, the doodle mix will return to his official owner, Molly, after a different source confirmed to the US publication that the star did not own a dog at the time of his death.
Matthew died on Saturday aged just 54. He was found in the hot tub of his LA home on October 28 by emergency responders.
At the time, it was reported that there were no illegal drugs on the scene and cops did not suspect any foul play. The Mirror reports that funeral plans are now underway after his body was released to his family. Colleague and friend Lisa, who issued a joint statement with the rest of the lead cast yesterday, has already confirmed her attendance.
Molly, 32, was first linked to the actor in 2018, and they got engaged in November 2020, before splitting in June 2021. Since their split, Alfred has featured regularly on Molly's Instagram.
In a post from September, she opened up on how close she was to her pet as she wrote: "Alfred is three. He is very annoying a lot of the time, but he is truly the most loving potato. He entered my life during some dark depression, and he helped get me far away from that. He is also cute as all fuck. Cheers to you, Alfredo #adoptdontshop."
Molly, a literary manager for Thruline Entertainment, has posted a touching tribute to her ex in the wake of his death. She revealed that they watched the hit NBC show that made him famous together, after he admitted in his autobiography last year
